Taxicard

Taxicard provides refunds of half of the cost of taxi fares up to a maximum of £125 per year (1 April to 31 March).

Taxicard is for anyone who is a wheelchair user, on the Higher Rate of the mobility component of the Disability Living Allowance (or on Attendance Allowance if of retirement age) and living in Exeter.

Application forms can be obtained from the Exeter Taxicard Office. Once you have completed the application form post it to the address shown, enclosing proof of eligibility. This can be a copy of page 1 of your benefit book showing your name and address and a copy of page 3 showing your Disability Living Allowance Mobility Higher Rate or Attendance Allowance. Alternatively, if the allowance is paid directly into your bank account, a letter from Social Security confirming that you are entitled to this benefit.

Taxi journeys that you claim for should begin and/or end in Exeter. You may send in the claim form at any time, whether the form is full or not. You will receive a refund of half of the taxi fare, up to the limit of £125 per year. Within one week of our receipt of your claim (excepting times of national holiday) we will process the claim and send you a cheque.
