How to Use

This page will list and explain the hardware of the Transport Hub as well as guide you through how to use it.
Keyboard
The Transport HUB has a large print keyboard with a Braille overlay. This is designed for people who are visually impaired however it is just as easy to use if you aren't.
Mouses
We have 2 mouses. The trackball mouse and a wireless mouse.
The trackball is the ball in the centre of the trackball mouse. It is used to move the curser/pointer. There are 4 buttons surrounding the trackball. The bottom left button is 'left click' button and the bottom right is the 'right click' button. The top two buttons do not do anything at the moment. If you would like them to do something let us know on the feedback page. The 'scroll ring' is the ring surrounding the trackball. You can scroll up and down using this, but not left and right.
If you do not like to or do not need to use the trackball mouse you can use wireless mouse on the left hand side of the keyboards.
You do not need to set up or unplug either of these mouses. They both work at the same time.
Headset
There is a headset on the desk which you can use as headphones and a microphone. If you have difficulty navigating the volume controls on the computer the headset comes with a volume control attached to its wire.
The microphone can be used for speech recognition software. More information on this will be available when you sign up. For information on signing up please visit the sign up page.
