A brief history ...
1993: A group of interested people meet to establish Shopmobility for
Exeter
This group was known as Exeter Community
Transport Group.
Constitution adopted.
1994: Exeter Community Transport Group
became a registered charity.

October 1995: Shopmobility Centre opened part time.

July 1997: Exeter Taxicard was brought into ECTA.
August 1997: Full-time manager appointed.
December 1997: ECTA took over Exeter Ring & Ride.
Two additional part-time members of staff
were appointed.
May 1998: Opening hours increased to include Saturday
opening, and extra hours for Christmas shopping and special events in
the city.
June 2002: New extension to ECTA’s office was opened, with more storage space for
the thirty vehicles and a
large office/meeting room.
June 2003: Leisuremobility
launched near Exeter Quay.
The mobile unit started taking mobility vehicles to events all around
Devon.

December 2007: Funding secured to start a
new accessible vehicle to operate individual trips for ECTA users.
March 2008: ExeAccess, a lottery funded taxi service exclusively for people with mobility issues launches.
June 2008 onwards....
